After twenty-plus albums as a collaborator and sidewoman, JUNO-award winning clarinetist Virginia MacDonald is releasing her long-awaited debut album as a bandleader. “In Search of…” is a compelling showcase of Virginia’s distinctive and modern artistic voice which has earned widespread international acclaim, including this review from Grammy Award-winning trombonist Micheal Dease: “Virginia MacDonald is not only an exceptional clarinetist, she is a visionary — an innovator and trailblazer on her instrument — redefining the creative possibilities of jazz clarinet for a new generation.” BJP is delighted to be the Calgary stop on Virginia’s album release tour.
