About this event

Calgaréal is a dynamic cross-country collective of eight musicians from the folk and new music

scenes of Calgary and Montréal. Through this unique reunion of people and sounds often

depicted as wildly different, they create breathtaking original pieces that fuse jazz of all flavours

with the musical traditions of Quebec, France, Spain, the Balkans and China.

Launched this October, their first studio LP Vanishing Points is dubbed by critics as “a

fascinating pancanadian experience with a unique new sound”. Their previous EP “Live en

personne”, released last year, was named World Album of the Year at the 2024 YYC Awards.
