Esteban Herrera Latin Quartet
About this event
Esteban Herrera presents Voz Morena, a new Latin jazz quartet bringing together original compositions, improvisation, and the rhythmic traditions of Latin America.
Featuring Esteban Herrera (piano), Jeff Gammon (bass), Luis Tovar (percussion), and Raúl Tavera (percussion), the ensemble explores an unusual instrumental concept in which all four musicians contribute to the music’s rhythmic and percussive language. The result is an energetic, highly interactive sound where written material and improvisation constantly intersect.
This performance at The Polaris Theatre will feature original music from Herrera’s forthcoming album Voz Morena, scheduled for release later this year, alongside previously unreleased material.
An evening of original Latin jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music rooted in Latin American traditions.
