the d’Linquint at Gulbar

About this event

The d’linquint are a Kimberley-based jazz trio consisting of long time collaborators Bryan Reichert (guitar), Tess Reichert (bass), and Chad Andriowski (drums). After relocating to a small mountain town in the East Kootenays, they transformed from their previous band Tess and the d’linquint and embraced mountain adventures in jazz.

An opportunity to preserve old recordings of Tess’ family led to the creation of this project. Gathered around a reel-to-reel tape machine, those new immigrants to Canada shared songs from their Ukrainian heritage. Bryan was asked to preserve these recordings and discovered a charming collection of songs, phone conversations, and joyous mayhem.

These recordings inspired the new jazz compositions which have become Slav Suites 1, the d’Linquint’s the debut album.

Both loosely inspired and directly observed, through music, we are together always. Slava Ukraini!
